i think it's highly interesting, not to mention amusing, that every piece of information relayed is generally met with an excited 'really!?' and answered again with an even more enthusiastic 'really!!'

a: i saw b on the streets today!
c: really!?
a: yeah really! she looks good now!
c: really!?1
a: yeah really!she is working in some advertising firm now.
c: really!?
a: yeah really..

and there i am thinking, if it's not 'really' then tell you for what! before i sheepishly admitted that i am guilty of this rather bizarre method of communication.

and then i realised something rather interesting. it applies to all sexes!
only the girls shriek, and the guys kinda say it in a more deadpan voice.

girl a: there's a mango sale!
girl b: reallly!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

guy c: huh.. really?

girl a and b:*shrieks in unison* yeah really!
